General Guidelines
Please read all submission guidelines. Work that fails to adhere to these guidelines will not be considered.
Main Squeeze Magazine is currently CLOSED to submissions.
Please submit previously unpublished poems, short stories, creative nonfiction, and art pieces.
We do not take any material created using AI.
Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please inform us right away if your work is accepted elsewhere!
- Poetry: Up to 5 Poems (max 7 pages). Please bring any formatting concerns to our attention beforehand!
- Prose: 4000 words max, limit 1 story (or 4 flash fictions/micro essays of 1000 words or less). We can work with PDF, Word, and Google Docs.
- Art: Up to 5 images, any format, as long as we can work with it. For video submissions, please use .mov, .mpeg4, or .mp4. If you are unable to send your video in one of these formats, please reach out via email, and we will work with you on your submission.
Either fill out our submission form (under construction right now), or email mainsqueezelitmag@gmail.com directly with your piece, its genre, and the current year in the subject of the email (example: “Nonfiction 2025”). If your piece does not have a title, please label it “Untitled.”
We can work with a number of files and formatting methods, and will reach out if we need something different.

What are we looking for?
We want writing that is strange, unexpected, hopeful, complex, and overripe. We want your medieval gallantry, your blatant propaganda, your chewed-up paper, your wine-drunk confessions. Send us something from the belly of the whale. Make us “Huzzah”!
