Bridgewater

Izel goes to Bridgewater on Wednesdays where
hummingbird trumpets vibrate down chimneys,
where the shore fills light bulbs with monsters and
rubies. The air freezes clusters of bat icicles and flies
them across feathertop. Fabrics of rue dry on clotheslines
and dangle over golden bird feeders. Orbs and spirit
guides intrust the wisps with the task of creating
bridal wreaths. Mice skitter across the floor
carrying baskets of hyacinths.

Galeno’s observatory shows willow landers
and chilling chimes. A galaxy of lighting and
grasses of mercury. Jupiter comes to life like gems
laced into tapestries. Half-empty glasses of orange
cotton cider sits beside aliens of Poseidon. They
sleepily watch supernovas dye thin birch and blast
navy lamps. Saturdays are for gathering around a fireplace
and counting galactic currency. Travel lightweight when
going south. Stay near light hollow, near all clusters of life.
Brick by brick, there’s seedless flora and house.
